Reading's flourishing LGBT community started back in 1994, with one main bar, when Sue Green and Simon Hallam opened The Wynford Arms. Two years later, in 1996, Sue went on to open The Granby and both venues were able to build up a respectable scene.

Without these two LGBT venues, Reading would not be in the position to host the biggest Pride Event in the Thames Valley!
