When did you become a committee member?
I joined Reading Pride in March 2009.
What other
volunteering work have you done?
None – it's my first time!
When/Where did you hear about Reading Pride?
I heard through a friend on the committee last year
What do you do for Reading Pride now?
I am the minute taker at meetings, do any admin that crops up plus help out with the marketing.
How has
volunteering for Reading Pride benefited your personal/professional development?
Well it's all fairly new to me and I am playing catch up. So far listening is the key.
Would you recommend
volunteering for Reading Pride?
Yes. It's very interesting finding out what has to happen in order for the amazing event to come together. To get involved at this early stage is brilliant as I could possibly help with something specific
happening on the day.
What is your best Reading Pride moment?
Last year – the cabaret was just brilliant – so good in fact that I forgot to venture round to the dance tent
until a lot later in the day!
