Frequently Asked Questions

Never been to Pride before? Wondering what to expect? What you can and can't bring with you? Hopefully we will answer all your questions -

Is the event still taking place in light of COVID-19?

The Chair and Trustees of Reading Pride have taken the decision not to proceed with the Love Unites festival hosted by Reading Pride, in its normal form in Kings Meadow, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 5th September 2020.

The safety of our attendees and volunteers is our primary concern. Running a large festival and implementing social distancing measures in an open space was not considered safe nor feasible.

Discussions are ongoing to assess the feasibility for different types of events, to take place this year, and based on the outcome of these assessments, further information will be shared in due course.

We understand that this will be disappointing to many people, but we ask for your understanding in the current circumstances and hope that everyone is looking after themselves and staying safe.

How does my company or organisation sponsor Reading Pride?

We are always interested in meeting potential new sponsors and supporters. Whilst we require significant financial support, we are always open to local businesses who can offer their products of services for free or at a heavily discounted rate.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, we are a family friendly event and encourage everyone to come along. We do ask that young children are supervised at all times.

Please note that whilst every effort is made to keep language on the Main Stage as clean as possible before 5pm after this time it is only suitable for over 15's.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Yes you can bring personal supplies of food and soft drinks in sealed [unopened] containers. Due to licensing restrictions alcoholic drinks cannot be brought on to the site although we offer a reasonably priced bar service. We perform checks on entrance to the site and reserve the right to confiscate any bottles we consider to contain alcohol or drugs.

What should I wear?

It is important that you do wear something, as this is a family event but otherwise wear what you like! It is difficult to predict the weather, but we suggest comfortable clothing and if you wish to dress according to our theme then this is encouraged.

How do I have book a space for the market stall?
