Reading Pride has started to release it’s headline acts for the Annual Pride festival. On the 5th of September there will be the traditional ‘drag act’ hosts of Sandra London and Wilma Fingadoo who will guide the crowd through a wide range of entertainment throughout the day that all the family will enjoy.

The headline acts that have been released so far are: Scottish singer–songwriter Jai McDowall, who won the fifth series of Britain's Got Talent. The Canadian-American singer Stacey Jackson who has 8 top 10 singles on charts from around the world including: 'Pointing Fingers', 'Live It Up' Feat. Snoop Dogg and 'Is This Love.’ The British electronic music NTrance, who have sold over 5 million records worldwide, hit singles include ‘Set You Free’, ‘Forever’, as well as covers of the popular 1970s disco songs ‘Stayin' Alive’, ‘D.I.S.C.O.’ and ‘Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?’ The full list of acts will be released on the 21st of August.

Formed in 2003, Reading Pride is back in Kings Meadow on the 5th of September for its 11th Pride celebrations. Initially started to represent and support the local LGBT+ community Reading Pride now has its eyes on the entire community of reading, and the Thames Valley, with inclusivity and integration as one of its main goals. Reading Pride also supports other charitable and voluntary organisations within the community throughout the year, developing an environment in favour of LGBT equality by providing information, advice and support. An integral part of the Reading Pride festival is the Market place. The Marketplace area gives organisations and businesses the opportunity to engage and communicate with LGBT+ communities within the Thames Valley and there will be lots to see and do there.

Since the first Festival, attendance has grown steadily year on year and now with up to 15,000 people visiting the event as well as participating in the Pride parade last year, Reading is the biggest non ticket selling Pride in the UK and numbers are expected to grow for 2015. Run entirely by volunteers throughout the year the Pride festival costs in excess of £20000 which is why they rely on support from donations large and small to fund the organisation and the Parade & Festival. Another way to support the Festival is to purchase tickets for the VIP Enclosure which makes a return for Reading Pride this year! Celebrate Pride in style with a dedicated bar service, VIP toilets, undercover seating, and meet and greets with the headline acts fresh from the main stage throughout the day. Wristbands for the VIP area are £12 in advance and £15 on the day! If you want even more luxury why not book a VIP? This package includes a themed table for the entire Reading Pride Festival, One bottle of wine per two people and undercover seating with the best views of the main stage! Tables can only be booked in advance and at £17.50pp! (Tables must be booked in multiples of two.)
