Reading Pride has always shrived to be a free event for all members of the community in the Thames Valley area and is proud to help and support the diverse communities it serves . We stand for equality and diversity, bringing the community together, and not segregating or charging entry into Reading Pride.
Reading Pride offers seating and other facilities suitable for disabled visitors, in addition to our premiere service VIP seating areas. Our bar tender terms remain unchanged from previous years, in that we do not permit bar areas to have seating areas within their marquees.
We are surprised, shocked and obviously disappointed that The Granby has pulled out at this late stage. We would like to thank them for them support over the past years and hope that they will be involved in this community event in the future.
Reading Pride are pleased to have found alternative suppliers who are happy to provide the services required for Reading Pride and the local community it serves, and we look forward to seeing all of you at Kings Meadow on Saturday 5th September.
Reading Pride was founded in 2003. We are a registered charity run solely by volunteers, aiming to promote equality and diversity, advance education and work towards eliminating discrimination in relation to Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people, in Reading and across the Thames Valley. Reading Pride is best known for the annual festival we stage. Our "free-to-enter" event celebrates our local community and has made significant progress in developing an environment in favour of LGBT equality. Throughout the year we work to raise public awareness of our friends and colleagues at other charitable and voluntary organisations in the local area who provide information, advice and support on a breadth of LGBT issues.
Over the last 5 years we have worked tirelessly to raise funds for the community and for our annual festival where we showcase diversity and encourage acceptance throughout Berkshire. Our next festival takes place on 5th September 2009 at Kings Meadow, Reading, and we expect over 10,000 local residents will attend this free event.
