Fundraising & Events
Reading Pride holds steadfast to its mission of providing an inclusive and free event for all attendees. However, accomplishing this goal poses significant challenges due to the limited public funding we receive. In light of this, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our magnanimous sponsors and donors who tirelessly support our fundraising efforts throughout the year. Their invaluable contributions enable us to orchestrate our much-anticipated annual festival, making it a resounding success and a celebration of diversity and unity.

via a Gift in Your Will
Embracing the act of charitable giving through your will is a meaningful way to give back to society. You have two options for drafting your will: you can either write it yourself or seek assistance from a legal professional, especially if your estate is complex. When including a charitable gift in your will, you have the freedom to specify whether you wish to donate a fixed amount, a particular item, or a portion of your estate after other gifts have been distributed. To ensure the legal validity of your will, it must be formally witnessed and signed.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a valuable tax incentive that encourages charitable donations. When eligible taxpayers donate to a registered charity, they can opt to use Gift Aid, allowing the charity to claim an additional 25p from the government for every pound donated, at no extra cost to the donor. This means that charities can maximise the value of contributions they receive, making a significant difference in their fundraising efforts. To utilise Gift Aid, donors typically need to complete a declaration confirming that they pay sufficient income tax or capital gains tax to cover the amount being claimed. This essential scheme has proven instrumental in supporting countless charitable organisations and their meaningful causes across the United Kingdom.
